Juliette N. Kayyam, Undersecretary of Homeland Security in Massachusetts gave an interesting view of the challenges of
establishing a homeland security program. A focus on interoperability, ports and planning has emerged as her platform
in addition to her continuity of government functions. I'd have liked to hear about the cooperation with the critical
infrastructure in private hands. Continuity of operations for the sectors covered under the National Infrstructure Protection
Plan go hand in hand with speed of recovery from an incident.
And, of course, what role does identity and credentialing
play in the Massachusetts security agenda?
